Obituary of Donald Boyd

Donald T. Boyd Age 84. Passed away peacefully at home Sunday, October 10, 2010 surrounded by his family. Donald was born in Joliet on February 17, 1926. Graduate of Joliet Central High School, class of 1944. A WW II Veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Retired from Commonwealth Edison as a Mechanical Operating Engineer at Will County Station after 37 years of service. Member of the American Legion Post #1080. Don was an avid golfer, Cubs fan and followed NASCAR. Preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Barbara Boyd and his beloved granddaughter, Megan Benedict. Left to celebrate his memory is his wife of 62 years, Margaret "Muggs" Boyd; his loving children, Mary Lou (Daniel) Benedict, Donna (Victor) Biasetti Jr. and Sally (Robert) Hlavka; his grandchildren, Bridget (Mike) Libert, Tony (Sandra) Biasetti, Mary (Tim) Gardner, Danielle (Tom) Grey III, Keith Hernandez and Gina (Tom) Darnell; great-grandchildren, Lukas Biasetti, Morgan and Cody Gardner; sister, Barbara (late Earl) Bush. The Boyd family would like to extend a sincere thank you to Provena Home Health Care and Joliet Area Community Hospice for their compassionate, dedicated care. Funeral Services for Donald T. Boyd will be Wednesday October 13, 2010 at 9:15 a.m. from the funeral home to St. Ambrose Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Interment Resurrection Cemetery.
