Zolp, Bernard L.
Age 83, of Joliet, passed away Monday, January 16, 2012, surrounded by his devoted family.
Born June 11, 1928 in Chicago, and a Joliet resident since 1995. A United States Army veteran of the Korean War. Retired from Archer Engineering as Sales Manager after many years of service. Member of American Legion Post #1080.
Bernard was an avid fisherman who loved the outdoors, and was a loyal Chicago sports fan. He was outstanding father and devoted grandfather.
Survived by his true love of 56 years, Alice M. (nee Tuchowski) Zolp; two sons, William (Debra) Zolp of Dumfries, VA, and Thomas (Belinda) Zolp of Homer Glen; four daughters, Kathleen (Robert) Mikols of Homer Glen, Jennifer Zolp of Joliet, Christine (Scott) McGuire of Romeoville, and Pauline (L. Brian) Swenson of Beecher, IL; ten grandchildren, Patrick (Shaska) Mikols, Daniel Mikols, Mary Zolp, Tess Zolp, Michael McGuire, Veronica Zolp, Faye Zolp, Elizabeth Zolp, George Zolp, and Victoria Zolp; one brother, Frank (late Shirlie) Zolp of Sauk Village; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceded by his parents, Frank and Anna (nee Romulis) Zolp; and two sisters, Anna Zolp, and Thecla Zolp; and one brother John Zolp.
Funeral services for Bernard L. Zolp will be Thursday, January 19, 2012 at 9:15 a.m. from the funeral home to Church of St. Jude for Mass at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. Visitation Wednesday from 4-9 p.m. at:
