Charles E. Jenkins
Age 74, of Morris, passed away Friday, December 14, 2012 at his home. Born August 13, 1938 in Vienna, IL, he was the son of Gail and Velma (nee Lingle) Jenkins. He received his education at No. 9 School and Vienna High School.
Charles married his first wife, the late Patricia E. Small on October 17 at the Park Street Congregation Church in Mazon. He married his second wife, Connie A. Brue on June 16, 1979 at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Morris.
He retired from Aurora Caterpillar. He was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church and Chicago Beagle Club. He was an avid gardener, sportsman, and enjoyed bowling and spending time around the campfire with friends and family.
Survived by his wife Connie Brue Crowley Jenkins; sons, Mike (Karla) Jenkins and Patrick Jenkins, both of Morris; daughter, Terri (Kevin) MacDonald of Vienna; stepson, Michael (Michalene) Crowley of Morris; brother, Frank (Diana) Jenkins of Morris; sister, Faye (George) Kelly of South Carolina; grandchildren, Brandon, Kendra and Kailey Jenkins, Josh Berkland, Tricia (Cyle) Johns, Tasha Ross and Alexander, Caleb and Ethan Jenkins; step grandchildren, Tyler, Brittnay and Madeline Crowley, Amber (Brandon) Lamore and Melissa Lessard; great-grandchildren Jayden John and Brylee Cox; step great-grandchildren Hayleigh John, Skyler and Lucas Lamore.
Preceded by his parents; his first wife Patricia on May 19, 1977; and stepfather Gifford Moore.
A Memorial Service for Charles E. Jenkins will be held on Saturday, December 22, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church. Pastor Steven Heilmann to officiate. Private inurnment to take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Grundy Community Volunteer Hospice or Grace Lutheran Church. Arrangements entrusted to:
