Lois (Ward) Breen
Lois (Ward) Breen, age 65, of Northbrook, and formerly of Joliet, passed away Monday, December 12, 2011 at Highland Park Hospital in Highland Park.
Born November 3, 1946 in Joliet, she was the daughter of the late James and Catherine (Paladeau) Ward.
Lois was a caring and generous person who spent her life helping those less fortunate. She worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse for many years including serving at Silver Cross Hospital, Our Lady of Angels and Joliet Terrace. She was a devout Catholic and enjoyed spending her time at church events. She was also an active volunteer working with the homeless, and served as a Girl Scout leader for many years. Lois also enjoyed gardening and will be remembered for her green thumb, specializing in roses.
She is survived by her beloved daughter, Deborah (Anthony) Zegger of Itasca; two loving grandsons, Jake and Nicholas Zegger; her devoted brothers and sisters, Catherine (late Doyal) Kuykendall of Hillview, IL, Mary Ann (Ron) Buckingham of St. Petersburg, FL, James (late Joyce) Ward of Huntsville, Alabama, Margaret Hartline of Nashville, Tennessee, and Elizabeth (Thomas) White of Roselle; and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Saturday, from 11:00 to 3:00 p.m followed by a memorial service at 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home chapel. Final resting at Resurrection Cemetery, Romeoville, will be private. Arrangements by:
