Obituary of Charles Phillips

Charles R. Phillips "Charlie" Age 89. Passed away peacefully Friday, March 8, 2013 at Rosewood Care Center. Born in Dayton, OH on July 12, 1923 to the late Laura (nee Loose) and Charles K. Phillips, he was raised in Larchmont, NY. A United States Marine Corps veteran who served during WWII. Charlie received a Bachelors in Economics from the University of Virginia and a Masters in Economics from Yale University. Retired after over 40 years of service from the Burlington Northern and Sante Fe Railroad. He enjoyed trains, model and full size; as well as collecting stamps and coins. Member of the American Legion. Beloved husband of 58 years to Patricia "Pat" (nee Pettijohn); loving father of Mark Phillips of Berwyn, IL and Mike (Rhonda) Phillips of Plainfield. Private family services will be held followed by full military honors and inurnment at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.
