Your mother is always with you...
She's the whisper of the leaves
as you walk down the street.
She's the smell of bleach in
your freshly laundered socks.
She's the cool hand on your
brow when you're not well.
Your mother lives inside your laughter.
She's crystallized in every tear drop...
She's the place you came from,
your first home..
She's the map you
follow with every step that you take.
She's your first love and your first heart break....
and nothing on earth can separate you.
Not time,
Not space...
Not even death....
will ever separate you from your mother....
You carry her inside of you....

Mom started life out as a brunette (as you can see by the pictures here) .
When Mom decided to become a blonde she of course did it in a dramatic fashion.
On evening, - Mom with Aunt Virg as her co-conspirator's decided to change Mom's hair color - this while Dad was SLEEPING.
In one evening Mom went from being a brunette to a blond.
I'm always wished that I was around when Dad woke up to find a "new" and "improved" wife.
Dad must have loved it though, as Mom never went back to being a brunette.

Mom always enjoyed music. When I was growing up every Sunday in the summer was spent at Polonia Gove, with Mom and Dad dancing all afternoon to the Polka bands.
Mom dancing in her 3" high , pointed toe heals .
Those shoes were a young girls fantasy, but I must confess that To this day I'm still amazed that Mom survived a whole afternoon of dancing in those high heels - especially to a polka.

Family was important to Mom, and she reached out to help however she could and Mom's wish would be to smile when you think of her. In the vein of "smiling" I'd like to share a memory.
One particular memory comes to mind here while Uncle Steve Ciston lived with us. His doctor recommended having liver at once a week.
This left my Mom with a dilemma as at the time, she had two young daughters who were picky eaters.
Her solution ? Well why not hamburgers ? Mom's new recipe was liver hamburgers.
On those evenings, the dog begging under the table had a good supper from the two girls sitting at the dining table.
