Obituary of Alphonse Wilhelmi

Wilhelmi, Alphonse M. Age 99. Passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire, WI. Born on October 7, 1913 in Joliet to the late Charlotte "Lottie" (nee Krings) and John Wilhelmi, he resided in Joliet over 90 years, and Cumberland, WI since 2007. He attended Joliet Grade Schools and graduated from Joliet Township High School. Al was a longtime Joliet resident until moving to Cumberland, WI six years ago. Preceded in death by his beloved wife of 57 years, Mildred (nee Ziech) (1995); his parents; sisters, Helen Kerr and Marie Meyer: and brother, John. Survived by his sons, Richard "Dick" (Malvina) of Albuquerque, NM and Allan (Kathleen) of Cumberland, WI; eight grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. Al was a salesman and part owner of Joliet Auto Supply (originally Alden Auto Supply retiring in 1979. He was appointed to the Joliet Planning Commission in 1964 and served as chairman for over 31 years. Al was also active in the Rivals Park Little League and served as its president in 1957 and 1958. He was an inductee to Joliet/Will County Project Pride Hall of Pride in 1995 and thoroughly enjoyed serving his community. Funeral services for Alphonse M. Wilhelmi will be held Saturday, April 27, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet. Interment Woodlawn Memorial Park.
