Obituary of Ann Wilhelmi

Ann Marie Wilhelmi (nee Waddell) Age 49, of Joliet, passed away peacefully Monday, May 13, 2013, at home surrounded by her loving family. Born July 11, 1963 in Evergreen Park, to Mary Theresa (nee Pullen) and the late George Patrick Waddell, Jr., she was a graduate of Lockport Township High School Ann Marie was a wonderful and loving wife, mother, daughter, sister and aunt, and especially enjoyed being Ya-Ya to her granddaughter, Maecyn. She was a loyal and devoted friend to many who will be remembered for her helpfulness, and her love of children, art, reading and horses. During her illness, she became a hero to her family and friends through her courageous example. Surviving are her loving husband, Christopher T. Wilhelmi; her devoted daughter, Jessica (Justin) Rodriguez of Braidwood; her beloved granddaughter, Maecyn Marie Rodriguez; her mother, Mary Theresa Waddell; her brothers and sisters, George Patrick (Janis) Waddell III, Robert (Sue Z.) Waddell, Suzanne Waddell, Mary Jo (Peg) Waddell-O'Neil, Patrick (Karen) Waddell, and Jill (Max) Christopher; her Godfather, William (late Kathy) Waddell, Sr.; her husband's siblings, Joseph (Cathy) Wilhelmi, Terri (Tony) King, and Thomas Wilhelmi, Jr.; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and Godchildren. Preceded by her father, George Patrick Waddell, Jr. (September 19, 2006) and her mother-in-law, Margaret Wilhelmi (September 19, 1993). Funeral Services for Ann Marie Wilhelmi will be Saturday, May 18, 2013 at 8:45 a.m. from the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rd., Joliet to St. Ambrose Catholic Church for Mass at 9:30 a.m. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Joliet Area Community Hospice or a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated. Visitation Friday from 2-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
