Obituary of Evaristo Reta
Evaristo Carranza Reta, Sr.
Age 76, of Morris, passed away Monday, June 3, 2013 at O.S.F. St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria, IL. He was born October 26, 1936 to the late Simon and Petra (Carranza) Reta in SLP, Mexico, and had resided in Morris for many years.
Survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Hortencia (nee Gustavo) Reta; children, Bruno (Mary Ann), Ismael and Xavier Reta all of Morris; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Virginia R. Morin of Houston, TX, and many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his son, Evaristo Reta, Jr. (2012); grandson, Esteban Reta; his parents and one brother, Mariano Reta
Evaristo was an avid gardener who enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. In younger years, he played semi-pro baseball in Brownsville, TX. He retired from Sponge Cushion after many years of service, and was formerly employed by Alumax and New Jersey Zinc of Depue, IL.
Funeral services for Evaristo Reta, Sr. will be Thursday, June 6, 2013, 11:30 a.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 1201 W. Route 6 at Deerpath Drive, Morris, IL. Fr. Edward Howe, C.R. officiating. Interment Evergreen Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to his family would be appreciated. Visitation Wednesday, 5-8 p.m. at:
