Lois Lorraine Bettenhausen
Age 82, of Joliet, passed away quietly on Monday, June 10, 2013 following a brief illness with cancer. Born May 31, 1931, she was a lifelong resident of Joliet. Lois was an only child to Jack and Margaret Stockton. She attended Joliet Township High School and graduated from the Metropolitan Business School before working at Moore's Stove Works, Boston Store and Uniroyal. Lois was married to her loving husband, Wayne Bettenhausen in 1954 . They were married for 39 plus years before Wayne's passing in 1994.
She is survived by her son, Larry (Colleen) Bettenhausen of Camarillo CA; her two daughters, Laura Mirelez of Joliet and Linda Johnson of Largo, FL; grandson, Zach Johnson; and nephew, Bob Lovstad of Joliet.
Lois enjoyed traveling extensively throughout the US along with going on many day trips with her friends of the Plainfield and Joliet Park Districts. She also loved the movies and going to live theatre, as well as just watching TV and talking on the telephone daily.
The family would like to thank her friends, Pat Stine, Lloyd, Dansy and Margaret for looking after Lois in the past years.
Funeral Services for Lois L. Bettenhausen will be Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rd., Joliet, IL.
