Obituary of Michael Obrecht

Michael G. Obrecht Obrecht, Michael G. Age 64. At rest peacefully Thursday, June 13, 2013 at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home after a year long, courageous battle with cancer. Born in Detroit, MI to the late Melvin and Muriel (nee Dery) Obrecht, he was a resident of Plainfield for the past 29 years. Employed by NationaLease (Ameriquest) for the past 17 years. A Vietnam War veteran of the U.S. Army. Member of Plainfield United Methodist Church, serving his church on the Video Ministry Team. An avid fan of auto racing, especially Nascar and Formula One. Surviving are his loving wife, Debbie (nee Holmquist) Obrecht of Plainfield, IL; two daughters, Jennifer Obrecht of Crest Hill, IL and Michelle Obrecht of Plainfield, IL; three sisters, Sandra Marino of Royal Oak, MI, Christine McElroy of Harrison Twp., MI and Celia (Bobby) McCoin of Rockford, MI; one brother, Patrick (Missy) Obrecht of St. Cloud, FL; numerous nieces and nephews; and his granddog, Rico. Funeral Services for Michael G. Obrecht will be Monday, June 17, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rd., Joliet. Interment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name to Plainfield United Methodist Church Video Ministry Team or the charity of donor's choice would be appreciated.
