Obituary of Marianne Haley

Marianne Haley "Mitzi" (nee McCarthy) Age 67. Suddenly Friday, June 21, 2013 at home. Born in Joliet and residing in Minooka the past sixteen years. A retired Pastoral Associate with St. Mary Catholic Church in Minooka, she was also actively involved at the family farm. An avid volunteer with Minooka Elementary School, Minooka Library and St. Mary Catholic Church. Mitzi was very proud of her Irish heritage, she enjoyed gardening, the outdoors, animals and most of all, her grandchildren. Surviving are her loving husband of 46 years, Mike Haley of Minooka; her daughters, Janice (Tony) Columbus of Joliet and Julie (Matt) Dzarnowski of Shorewood; her beloved grandchildren, Matt and Nina Columbus, Haley and Hannah Dzarnowski; her mother, Ruth (nee Phillips) Culyat of Joliet; sisters, Gerry Sossong and Lee (Gary) Wills both of Channahon; step-sister, Christine (Rick) Emerick; step-brother, David Culyat; numerous nieces and nephews as well as faithful companions, Maggie, Dolly and Buck. Preceded by her father, Thomas McCarthy; sister, Kathleen Malloy; stepfather, Tony Culyat. Funeral Services for Mitzi will be Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at 9:00 a.m. from the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rd., Joliet to St. Mary Catholic Church, Minooka for Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Interment St. Mary Cemetery, Minooka.
