Obituary of Sister Agnes Goode

Sister Agnes Goode, OSF (Alcantara) Sister Agnes Goode (Alcantara), OSF was born in Circleville, Ohio, in 1928 to William and Ruth Maechtel Goode. Agnes attended Washington Township Grade and High Schools in Ohio. She was a beloved member of the Sisters of St. Francis of Mary Immaculate in Joliet, Illinois, for sixty-five years. Sister Agnes received her Bachelor's degree from St. Francis College, now the University of St. Francis, in Joliet, and her Master's degree from the University of Illinois in Champaign, Illinois. Sister Agnes taught in elementary schools in Chicago and at St. John the Baptist in Joliet. She also taught in high schools in Chicago and in Ohio. Sister served in the area of Parish Ministry at various parishes in Ohio. Her last years were spent at Mohun Health Care Center of the Dominican Sisters of Peace at St. Mary of the Springs in Columbus, Ohio. Funeral services for Sister Agnes were held in Ohio with interment at St. Joseph Cemetery in Circleville, Ohio. Special Memorial Services consisting of a Prayer Service and Memorial Mass for Sister Agnes will take place on Thursday, July 18, at Our Lady of Angels Retirement Home, Joliet. The Prayer Service will be held at 4:45 p.m. and the Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 7:00 p.m. The public is welcome.
