Obituary of Linda Wood

Wood, Linda S. (nee DeWitt) Age 53, late of Montgomery, and formerly of Joliet, passed away Sunday, August 11, 2013 at Journey Care Hospice in Barrington following a courageous battle with sarcoidosis. Born May 15, 1960, she was the daughter of Richard and Nola (Hoxsey) DeWitt. Employed by Tellabs in Bolingbrook for 18 years, and later by Caterpillar, Inc., Aurora for seven years. Linda enjoyed food, shopping, motorcycles and spending time with friends and family. She was also a caring mother, loving daughter, devoted sister, and a faithful animal lover. Surviving are her beloved daughter, Holly (fiancé, Darius Mitchell) Wood of Maywood; one sister, Kathy Ranger of Montgomery; her mother, Nola DeWitt of Montgomery; and one nephew, Mark Ranger of Montgomery. Preceded by her father, Richard DeWitt. Memorial Services for Linda DeWitt Wood will be Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at 7:30 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet. Interment will be private. Memorials in her name to JourneyCare Foundation would be appreciated.
