Dolores J. Garrett (nee Helmer) Age 77. Passed away Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at Joliet Area Community Hospice Home. Born in Wycna, WI on June 17, 1936, and a Lockport, IL resident since 1983 and formerly of Chicago Heights, IL. Beloved mother of John (Laurie) Burmeister, Margaret Flores, Ann Bauman, Emily (Willard) Clausen, Laurna Jenness, Thomas Garrett, Jr., and Frederick (Sharon) Garrett; stepsons, Darrell Garrett and David Tenbrooke; 31 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; sister of Kenneth (Janice) Helmer and Shirley (late Donald) Pritchard both of Beaver Dam, WI, Mary (late Jerome) Budde of Round Lake, IL, Ronald (Sherry) Helmer of Madison, WI and Elroy (Audrey) Helmer of FL; numerous nieces and nephews also survive; friends of the Lockport Silver & Gold Club, and special friends, Rachel and Jesse. Preceded in death by her significant other, Edward J. Leiker; her parents; her brothers, Merlin (Mary) Helmer, Art (Lou Ann) Helmer; one sister, Louella (Morris) Page. Life passions were her Garden of Love, Serving as Vice President of the Silver & Gold Club of Lockport, IL and enjoying her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Visitation for Dolores J. Garrett will be held Sunday, August 18, 2013 from 2-7 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet. Funeral Services for Dolores will be held Monday, August 19, 2013 at 10:00 a.m at the same location.
