Obituary of Harry King

Harry L. King "Junior" Age 61, of Shorewood and formerly of Plainfield, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, August 25, 2013, after a courageous battle against cancer. Born August 14, 1952 in DeKalb to the late John "Ray" and Floris (nee Clarke) King. Survived by his wife of 20 years, Karen A. (Hobson) of Shorewood; his children, Jonathan (Alicia) King of San Lorenzo, CA, Garreth King of Sunnyvale, CA, Christina (James) Spiros, Jason Shireman, Jennifer (Stephen) Kenney and Katharin (Shaun) Webb all of Minooka; grandchildren, Alexandria Spiros, Adam Shireman, Zavier King, Victoria Shireman, Isaiah King, Kyra Kenney, Samuel Webb, Sienna King, Carter Kenney, Sadie Webb and Jackson Kenney; one brother, Robert King; four sisters, Opal Larson, Mary King, Rosie Wogoman and Sherry King. Several nieces and nephews. Member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Lodge # 1024 in Morris. He was employed with IDOT in Morris the past 12 years, and previously with J. I. Case International for over 20 years. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran. Harry loved to hunt and fish, but his true passion was spending time with his grandkids. He will fondly be remembered for being a very generous, giving person to friends and strangers alike. As it was Harry's wish, Cremation Rites have been accorded. All friends and relatives are invited to gather to celebrate his life on Wednesday, August 28, 2013 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Fraternal Order of Eagles Lodge, 120 Liberty Street, Morris, IL.
