Cori and family,
Your mother was such a lovely lady. She was always friendly, smiling and engaging when we had the pleasure of her company. It was quite obvious that she adored her daughters, her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren. What a fantastic legacy to leave to her loved ones! We are with you in spirit and in prayer during your time of loss. Much love to all of you.

Our mom was a very special person. She was fun loving and a little spacey, but always sweet, kind, and loving. She had a tendency to get words and titles confused, a trait she passed on to both of her daughters. One of our favorites was how she always called the TV show "Wagon Train" "Wagon Wheels." She taught us to always be kind, especially to those made fun of by others, and she told us never to judge people by color or race. One phrase we heard over and over was "if you can't say anything nice, don't say it."
Her culinary skills were known by all who knew her. Her Swedish coffee cakes and rolls were indescribably delicious, as were the many pies she made. Coming home from school to the smell of freshly made cookies was a treat, but my sister and I were limited to one until we ate our dinners, especially the veggies. I never understood why I couldn't eat Wonder Bread like all of the other school kids. We were stuck with the healthy stuff.
Unfortunately, she was plagued with dementia for close to ten years, yet her kind and loving nature remained throughout. She was in the Memory Unit of an assisted living home for her last four years, and the staff always commented on what a pleasure it was to have her there. We will miss her greatly, but she is now happily united with our father and in a place where her memory has been restored and she can experience eternal happiness.

May the grace of GOD continue to cover your family during this time. Please remember the stories, smiling, laughs, the eye of caring, and loving touches from the heart that only she could supply. PEACE
