Obituary of Cathy Shields

Cathy A. Shields (nee Kambic) Age 54. Passed away Sunday, September 8, 2013 at Presence Saint Joseph Medical Center. Born November 28, 1958 in Joliet, and a lifetime resident of Joliet, she was the daughter of Raymond and Carlene (nee Flynn) Kambic. She was a graduate of St. Joseph Grade School and Joliet West High School, Class of 1974. Cathy worked 30 years for R. R. Brink Locking Systems, most recently as Purchasing Manager. She was the loving mother of Daniel (Jenada) Kambic, Joseph (Mary Grace) Cabrera, Christina Cabrera and Cody Shields. Also surviving are her grandsons, Blake and Max Kambic; her mother, Carlene Kambic; one brother, Kenneth (Pam) Kambic; her loving niece, Lisa (Karl) VanMeter; dear friend, Teree (Leo) Shiner; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded by her father, Raymond V. Kambic; one brother, Gary (Doris) Kambic; one sister, Roberta (Robert) Abel; maternal grandparents, Clinton and Anna May Flynn; paternal grandparents, Louis and Elizabeth Kambic; and a nephew, Elliott Wickstrom. A Memorial Service for Cathy A. Shields will be held Thursday, September 12, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet. Interment will be private.
