Geraldine I. Oram
(nee Cullen)
Age 72. Peacefully passed away Saturday, September 28, 2013 at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home. Born in Joliet and a lifelong Joliet area resident. Retired from the Will County Recorder Office after over 21 years of service as a supervisor. A longtime member of of the guardian Angel Alumni Association. A member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and most recently a eucharistic Minister. Her favorite loves in life were reading a good book, assisting others through her charitable work and spending time with her family and friends.
Preceded by her husband, Duane D. Oram, Sr. (1995); her parents; one sister, Thelma (Billy) Kyles; and one brother, Raymond (Lois) Cullen.
Survived by two daughters, Shari (Glenn) Tarnawa of Plainfield, and Christine (the late Bill) Penrod of Arkansas; one son, Duane D. Oram, Jr. of Arkansas; six grandchildren, Michelle, Jeremy, Steven, Misty, Duane III and Alexis; six great-grandchildren, Daniel, Derek, Edward, Miley, Arianna and Audree; two sisters, Linda (Richard) Poplawski of Joliet, and Josephine Keagle of Joliet; and two brothers, Charles "Chuck" (Peggy) Cullen of Elwood, IL and Michael (Dorothy) Cullen of Joliet. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Funeral Services for Geraldine I. Oram will be Saturday, October 5, 2013 at 8:30 a.m. from the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rd., Joliet to St. Patrick Catholic Church, Joliet, for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. As it was Geraldine's request, Cremation Rites will be accorded following her funeral mass. In lieu of flowers memorials to St. Patrick Catholic Church in her name would be appreciated. Visitation Friday, 2-8 p.m. at the funeral home. For information: 815-741-5500.
