Obituary of Mary Cabrera

Mary Theresa Cabrera nee Almeda Age 74, of Joliet, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, September 24, 2010, surrounded by her family after a ten year valiant battle with serious illness. Born January 12, 1936 in Ottawa, IL. to the late Trinidad and Leonore (Huerta) Almeda. A devoted wife and mother, she is survived by her husband of 55 years, John J. Cabrera; children, John R. (Cecilia, deceased), Leonard, Kenneth, Camille (Gust) Logothetis, Craig (Stephanie) and Jaime. Her greatest joy, her grandchildren: Ryan, Barbara, Trudy, Gabriel, Craig, Kylie, Alec, Adam, Deana, Drew and Aaron. Also survived by brothers Raymond (Betty), Trini (Marie), Francis and Steven Almeda; sisters, Victoria (Sidney) Hensley, Katherine (Frank) Arroyo, Linda Almeda, Josie (Jerry) Jefferies and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents; her daughter-in-law and two brothers, Joseph (Rita) and Tony (Beverly) Almeda. All friends and relatives are invited to meet at the Church of St. Jude in Joliet on Saturday, October 2, 2010, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name to Joliet Area Community Hospice would be appreciated.
