Obituary of Frances Reynolds

Frances E. Reynolds (Southcomb) (nee Cohan) Age 82. Passed away peacefully, Saturday, February 1, 2014 at Venice Regional Medical Center, Venice, FL with family at her side. Born June 15, 1931 in Joliet, to Francis J. and Doris E. (nee Astbury) Cohan, she was a graduate of St. Francis Academy and St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing. She worked as a Registered E.R. Nurse for many years and retired from the State of Illinois. Frankie spent many retirement winters in the Englewood/Venice, FL area. She was a member of Myakka Pines Golf Club in Englewood, FL, and was an avid golfer who achieved a hole-in-one. She was a member of both the Golf Coast and the Joliet Park District women's leagues. She was also a member of the Joliet Elks. Family was very important to Frankie. She enjoyed attending family birthday parties, get togethers, and grandchildren's sporting events. She was the proud Matriarch of her entire family. Surviving are her children, Cindy (John) Foster of Fort Collins, CO, Ken (Jeannine) Southcomb of Joliet, IL, Dan (Carol) Southcomb of Joliet, IL, and Sheri (Randy Keen) Curran of Old Hickory, TN; 13 grandchildren, Jen (Eric) Webb, Kayde (Tom) Foster-Cody, Leslie (Lori) Foster-Morrill, Erica (Chris) Kenney, Scott Southcomb, Ashley (Ryan) Gremillion, Jill (Brad) Wieher, Kyle (Tina) Southcomb, Ryan (Heather) Southcomb, Michael Southcomb, Melissa (Troy) Fatlan, Kevin (Karen) Curran, and Matt (Britt) Curran; 22 1/2 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband, James A. Reynolds; parents; and her sister, Winifred Roach. Frankie was loved and will be missed by all who knew her. Funeral Services for Frances E. Reynolds will be Saturday, February 8, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet. Fr. Jim Lennon will officiate. Interment will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Romeoville. Visitation Friday, 2-8 p.m. at the funeral home. A memorial service will be scheduled in Venice, Florida for her friends at a later date.
