Obituary of Richard Runchey

Richard E. Runchey Age 88, a former Chicago (southside) resident, passed away Wednesday, February 26, 2014 at the LaSalle Veterans' Home in LaSalle, IL. He was born January 19, 1926 in Algona, IA to the late Mabel and Ellis Runchey. A U.S. Navy Veteran, he served his Country honorably in both WWII and the Korean War. Survived by his children, William (Linda) Runchey, Robert (Sheryl) Runchey, Betty (Jack) Cotton, Terry (Kelly) Runchey, Jerry (Diana) Runchey, Shirley (Larry) Booth and Richard Runchey; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; one Brother, James Runchey and several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his wife, Lilyan (Slove) Runchey; grandson, Jimmy Runchey; his parents and one sister, Jean Hanley. As it was Richard's request, cremation rites will be accorded. Interment of his cremains will take place Monday March 10, 2014, 11:00 a.m. at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery where full Military Honors will be accorded. Please arrive at the Cemetery Information Center at 10:45 a.m. Monday morning. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name to the LaSalle Veterans Home would be appreciated.
