C.J. Brummel, Jr.

Age 63. At rest suddenly, Wednesday, February 26, 2014 at Presence Saint Joseph Medical Center. Born in Chicago to the late Carl, Sr. and Gertrude (Frank) Brummel, he resided in Joliet most of his life. Retired from Caterpillar, Inc. in 2012 following 43 years of service. Member of the Machinists & Aerospace Workers Union #851. Legion member of the Joliet Moose Lodge #300 with a fellowship degree of honor. He was an avid Chicago Bears and White Sox fan.
Preceded in death by his parents; and his loving wife of 41 years, Connie L. (nee Martin) Brummel.
Survived by two daughters, Cathy Brummel and Chrissy Brower; one son, C.J. (Renee) Brummel, III; two grandsons, whom he referred to as "Papa's Boys", Richie and C.J. Brower, all of Joliet; two sisters, Donna (late Leroy) Krueger of Orlando, FL and Carol Jean (David) Tomlin of Northridge, CA; brother-in-law of Bonnie (Mike) Elkins, Terry (Bobbie) Martin, Tom (Laura) Martin and Eddie (late Linda) Haga; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral Services for C.J. Brummel, Jr. will be Monday, March 3, 2014 at 8:00 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet. As it was C.J.'s wish, Cremation Rites will be accorded following his funeral services.
