Obituary of Helen Cooney

Helen S. Cooney (nee Stone) Age 98. At rest Sunday, March 9, 2014 at Presence Villa Franciscan Nursing Home. Born in Chicago, she was a resident of Joliet for the past 28 years. Member of the Church of St. Jude. Former member of the Shorewood Lioness Club. An avid Chicago Cubs fan. Survived by her daughter, Gayle (Don) Lattin of Shorewood; seven grandchildren, Linda (Tom) Pierson, Darlene (Rick) Brown, Kevin (Sherri) Cooney, Sheryl Lattin, Donna (Bill) Suca, Keli (Jeff) Mappa, and Scott (Brandi) Lattin; and 11 great-grandchildren, Kayla and Hayley Pierson, Steven and Tyler Brown, Jillian and Cori Cooney, Jake and Dylan Suca, Jack Robertson, Jaelen Lewis and Dominick Lattin. Preceded in death by her husband, Bernard S. Cooney; two children, Dennis (Josephine) Cooney and Gerald (Sharon) Cooney. Funeral Services for Helen S. Cooney will be Thursday, March 13, 2014 at 9:15 a.m. from the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rd., Joliet to the Church of St. Jude for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Private interment Woodlawn Memorial Park.
