Obituary of Barbara Jungels

Barbara M. Jungels (nee Schaefer) Age 78. Peacefully Monday, March 31, 2014 at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home. Born in Chicago, grew up in New Lenox, and a long time Joliet area resident. A graduate of Joliet Township High School, Class of 1953. Retired from the Senior Services Center. Formerly employed by the Department of Employment Security and Kienlen Pools. Preceded by her husband, Lester Jungels (2008); one son, Raymond Jungels; and her parents, Joseph and Dorothy (nee Baird) Schaefer. Survived by one daughter, Jeanine Jungels of Addison, IL; three sons, Jeffery (fiancée, Cathy), Michael and Thomas Jungels, all of Joliet; and one brother, Joseph (Alma) Schaefer of California; numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services for Barbara M. Jungels will be Friday, April 4, 2014 at 9:15 a.m. from Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet to St. Patrick Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Entombment Resurrection Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Joliet Area Community Hospice or Alzheimer's Association in her name would be appreciated. Visitation Thursday, 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
