My uncle John was a positive force in my life. One of my earliest memories of him was many years ago when I was very little. Occasionally I would spend the night at their house and it was always a special treat for me. As soon as Aunt Edna and Uncle John put their young children to bed in the evening, he would get a goofy smile on his face and ask "Icecream?" Of course I always accepted the offer! We would sit side by side eating while we watched the latest (or maybe not the latest) episode of Bonanza---or whatever cowboy show happened to be on. But it was after the Icecream that made the differance in my young life. He would say goodnight to me and I would settle down to sleep on the sofa---What he didnt know was I could hear him begin to pray in the other room--His prayers were intense and beautiful--He left no one out of them---I heard him more than once ask God to watch over me and guide me---I have never forgotten those moments. I truly believed he and his precious wife loved me more than I could understand---He made a difference--not only in my life but in many others .If he knew you, you were automatically on his prayer list. Thankyou Uncle John. Your whole life was a living PRAYER.. love eternally, your neice Kathy

I have very fond memories of Uncle John all through my childhood! He was always smiling and joking around with us kids and never seemed to mind the gigantic invasion of the 8 of us Brockett kids running amuck through their house In Lockport! He and my Dad would sit in lawn chairs or easy chairs eating and laughing or out in the yard throwing horseshoes. I also remember the very best homemade Christmas caramels, wrapped in wax paper that as far as I ever knew, were Uncle Johns's special recipe, and they were awesome and I still think of them today! Rest in Peace, Uncle John and give Aunt Edna a big hug from me!
