Obituary of Mildred Williamson
Mildred Elizabeth "Mili" Williamson
(nee Johnson)
Age 89, of Morris, IL., passed away peacefully, Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at Park Pointe Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. Born June 9, 1924 to Thure and Elizabeth (nee Larson) Johnson in Grand Rapids, MI where she was raised until she and her family moved to Illinois in the mid 1930's settling in Kankakee. Mildred graduated from Augustana College in Chicago receiving her RN certificate which led to a rewarding career in healthcare. She was a truly compassionate nurse who put as much emphasis in the human spirit as she did with medicine.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Burwell "Jack" Williamson (1995); one son, Kirk Allen Williamson (1977), and her parents.
Survived by her son, Roger K. (Alice) Williamson of Irvine, CA; daughter, Laura K. (John ) Lovell of Morris, IL; grandchildren, Nicole (Steve) Babyak of Irvine, CA, Todd (Jessica) Williamson of Seattle, WA, Tyleen Harper of Morris and Weston (Kristen) Harper of Shorewood, IL; proud great-grandmother of Chloe, Kayla and Elizabeth Babyak, Kai, Merrik, Teagan and Nash Williamson, Sophia and Makenna Harper; and several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Mildred enjoyed life to the fullest. An accomplished needlepoint artist and excellent bridge player, she always looked forward to the annual costume party through the bridge society, where her "creativity" in costume design was definitely evident.
As it was Mildred's wish, cremation rites have been accorded and there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name can be made to Camp Barnabas, P.O. Box 3200, Springfield, MO 65808. For information (815) 942-5040 or www.fredcdames.com
