Obituary of George Patten

George E. Patten, Jr. Age 65. At rest Saturday, July 12, 2014 at Presence Saint Joseph Medical Center. Born in Joliet to the late George Sr. and Anna (nee Mack). He was a lifelong resident, graduate of Joliet West High School Class of 1966. Retired from ComEd in 2001 following 34 years of service. Former member of the Civil War Roundtables. Surviving are his loving wife of 32 years, Virginia "Ginger" (nee Smith) Patten of Joliet; his sister, Georgia Patten of Shorewood; niece, Susan (John) Underwood of Shorewood; brother-in-law, Frank Cherven of Channahon; and his faithful canine companions, Sam and Mason. Preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Marilyn Cherven. Funeral Services for George E. Patten, Jr. will be held Thursday, July 17, 2014 at 8:00 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds, Joliet. Cremation Rites will be accorded following services. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name to the Guardian Angel Basset Rescue, 108 E.
