James K. Latarewicz, Sr.
"Porky"
At rest Monday, October 20, 2014 at his residence with his family by his side, following a courageous battle with cancer. Born on May 10, 1945 in Cleveland, OH to the late Alex and Jenny Latarewicz, he was a resident of Homer Glen for most of his life, residing in Shorewood the past nine years. Graduate of Bremen High School. Retired from International Heat & Frost Insulators, and Asbestos Workers Local #17. Co-founder of Homer Stallions Youth Football. Formerly employed by Heritage Bluff Golf Course.
Surviving are his loving wife of 46 years, Sandy (Johnson) Latarewicz of Shorewood; three sons, Jim (Kelly) Jr. of Joliet, Jeff (Gina) of Shorewood and Jason (Shawna) of Joliet; eight grandchildren, Keagan, Sydney, Delaney, Sawyer, Kierney, Skylar, Austin and Gunner; one brother, Rich (Jeanette) of Florida; one sister, Sandy (Tom) Johnson of Manteno, IL; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Alex, Jr.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, October 24, 2014 at 8:30 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rd., Joliet. Family will receive friends and relatives on Friday from 5-9 p.m. Please omit flowers. For information: 815-741-5500 or www.fredcdames.com
