"Kay"
Age 86. Peacefully Monday, October 27, 2014 at Presence Villa Franciscan. Born in Channahon, IL, she was a lifelong Joliet area resident. Retired from Walmart at Larkin Avenue as a Walmart Welcome greeter after 10 years of service. Formerly employed as a bookkeeper for the A&P Food stores, retiring after many years of service. A member of All Saints Greek Orthodox Church and past President and member of the Philoptochos Society.
Preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Mary (nee Policandriotes) Zouganelis; four brothers, Theodore "Ted", Christo "Chris" (Lillian), George (Helen) and James "Jim" (Dorothy) Zouganelis; and one sister, Kalliope "Gen" (George) Antoninis.
Survived by her loving son, William "Bill" Zouganelis of Joliet; two sisters, Jennie (the late Francis) McKanna of Joliet and Helen (James) Skaropoulos of California; one sister-in-law, Eugenia Zouganelis of Wisconsin; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Funeral Services for Katharine "Kay" Zouganelis will be Friday, October 31, 2014 at 8:45 a.m. from the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet to All Saints Greek Orthodox Church for services at 9:30 a.m. with Fr. Stephen Bithos officiating. Interment Woodlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers memorials in her name to All Saints Greek Orthodox Church would be appreciated. Visitation Thursday, 4-9 p.m. with Trisagion Services at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
