Obituary of Susan Stanislaus

Susan M. Stanislaus (nee Marusak) Age 83. At rest Monday, October 27, 2014 at Presence Saint Joseph Medical Center. Born in Joliet, the daughter of the late Thomas and Sophie (nee Matichak) Marusak, she was a lifelong resident. Former member of Ss. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church. Member and past President of the Altar & Rosary Society. She was instrumental in the organization of the parish picnics and fish frys for many years. She was well-known for her homemade potato sausage and potica. Member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the East Side Athletic Club. Preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Herbert J. Stanislaus (2010); her parents; two brothers, Joseph and Thomas R. Marusak; and one sister, Sophie M. Gura. Survived by one son, David Stanislaus of Joliet; two daughters, Carol (Lloyd) Kirby of Channahon, and Debra (John) Blasdel of Joliet; ten grandchildren, David, Daniel (Tara), Darren, Damon and Mark Stanislaus; Crystal (Micah) Strief; Jason (Kristin) Kirby, Jenny (Joey) Zolper, Christine and Renee Blasdel; eight great-grandchildren, Fallon, David, Aiden and Owen; Jason, Patrick, Jordan and Ruby; one sister, Mary Ann Jurak of Dallas, TX; her sister-in-law, Helen Marusak of Joliet; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. As it was Susan's wish, private funeral services have been held with interment at Ss. Cyril & Methodius Cemetery. No visitation. Arrangements by Fred C.
