Obituary of Gerald Ceci

Gerald R. Ceci "Jerry" Age 71, of Reddick and formerly of Minooka and Shorewood, passed away peacefully at Provena St. Mary's Hospital in Kankakee after a short battle against cancer. Born in Joliet on June 21, 1937 to the late Louis and Mary (nee Duranto) Ceci, he was a lifetime area resident. He served in the U.S. Navy Reserves for eight years. A retired carpenter, he served Local #174 for over 30 years. He was an avid fisherman. Beloved husband of 51 years to Shirley (nee Trent); loving father of Kim (Tom) Frankovich, Laurie (Craig) Hischier and Scott (Beth) Ceci; proud grandpa of Brad Joutras, Tyler Hischier; Robert and Art Frankovich; brother of Dennis (Judy) Ceci; several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Norma Pipala. As it was Jerry's wish, cremation rites have been accorded. A Memorial Service will take place on Tuesday, December 16, 2008 at 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred.
