Obituary of Sistello Cerve

Cerve, Sistello "Steve" Age 84, of Joliet and formerly of Robinson, IL, passed away Sunday, May 6, 2012 at his late residence. Born in Chicago, IL September 3, 1927 to the late Frances and George Cerve, he resided in Chicago until moving to Robinson in 1967 where he lived until moving to the Joliet area in 2006. He was the beloved husband of 57 years to Marguerite "Peg" (Fitzgerald) Cerve; loving father of Jean Marie Reynolds, Stephen (Sharon) Cerve, Joanne (Joel) Musick, Peter (Maureen) Cerve and Susan Speigel. Proud grandfather of 10. Fond brother of Bea (Bruno) Jonaitis and dear uncle of many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Elfina DeNello, Mera Valenti, Florence Valenti, Louis Cerve and Sandy Pennuto. Sistello was a US Army Veteran who served during the Korean War, he was a retired Plant Superintendent from Victor Dana Corporation in Robinson, IL. He was a life member (4th degree) of the Knights of Columbus and American Legion, both in Robinson and an avid golfer. All friends and relatives are invited to gather at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 2500 Arbeiter Rd., Joliet, IL Wednesday, May 9, 2012 from 9:30 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial is celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Interment St. Mary Cemetery, Evergreen Park, IL.
