Peggy, There are no words that can easily help the pain of loss with someone so near and dear. I hope the inner healing of God's love and your extended family of fellow believers will help you get through the next several months. Laurel has many friends who agree that his absence will be significant but I also know, for all of us, The Lord will help.

Every so often, Laurel and I would fill in for our church bookkeeper so that she could go on vacation. On those Monday mornings, we would sort and write and count, then count again.
We'd laugh at ourselves and each other. We'd drop paperclips and pennies, and scold ourselves for having to pick them up.
When I was struggling to make things balance, he always knew that I concentrated better with quiet, then once I found my error, we'd go right back to jovially doing our work.
Every Sunday morning, while he served on the Red Carpet ministry greeting and assisting people, I'd find him for my hug and his greeting of, "Hey there Cutie Pie!"
Laurel was a friend and dear father figure. I know he is with Jesus today, and in that I take comfort.
Peggy, you and your family are in my broken heart and my prayers.
Laurel, I'll see you in the Kingdom.

Many words define Laurels Christian character. Laurel was a true friend. Faithful and filled with compassion. When I hurt, he hurt with me. Just like Jesus, Laurel never deserted me. Men's breakfast won't be the same without that huge smile and gentle spirit. My heart goes out to you, Peggy, Ann, Laurie and grandchildren.
