Obituary of Laura Sims

Laura Sims (nee Monroe) Age 60, of Joliet, IL, died unexpectedly, in her sleep, at home Thursday, February 12, 2015. She was born November 18, 1954 in Lockport, IL to Mary (nee Campbell) and the late Kenneth Monroe. Beloved mother of Christina O'very of Rhode Island and Wendy (Gregory) Reinert of Florida. Proud grandmother of Megan and Caitlyn Reinert. Loving daughter of Mary Monroe Kettman and the late Kenneth Monroe; fond sister of Sharon Baker, Raymond Monroe, Joe (Lisa) Monroe, John (Martha) Monroe, Mary Lou (Larry) Larsen and the late Robert Monroe. Dear aunt of several nieces and nephews including Ron Baker. Preceded in death by her father and brother. Laura loved the outdoors and was a fishing and camping enthusiast. She cherished her time with her granddaughters and family and will also be missed by her canine companion, Tiki. As it was Laura's wish, cremation rites have been accorded. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name can be made to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital.
