Joseph A. Zad
Age 93, of Plainfield, and formerly of Oak Lawn, passed away Saturday, March 7, 2015 at Presence Villa Franciscan.
Joe was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during World War II in the Artillary Division. He retired from Electro-Motive after many years of service.
He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was a Die Hard Cub fan but enjoyed all Chicago sports. He did not have a mean bone in his body and will be remembered for his sence of humor.
Survived by his four sons, Jeffrey (Sharon) Pawlik, David (Sandra) Zad, Kenneth (Grace) Zad, and Allen (Kimberly) Zad; and his grandchildren, Kimberly, Joseph, Kenneth, Steven, Michelle, Kevin and Ryan.
Preceded by his beloved wife of over 50 years, Stephanie W. Zad (May 14, 2010); his parents; one grandchild, Edwin Pawlik; three brothers; and two sisters.
A Memorial Mass for Joseph Zad will be held Saturday, March 14. 2015 at 10:00 a.m., at Holy Family Catholic Church, Shorewood, where visitation will be one-half hour prior to the Mass. Burial in Resurrection Cemetery, Justice, will be private. Fred C. Dames Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
