Age 93. Passed away peacefully, Monday, March 9, 2015 at St. Patrick's Residence, Naperville. A Hammond resident most of her life until moving to Joliet in 1987. Former owner and operator of Mack's Shoe Store in Hessville, IN and worked at JCPenney in Louis Joliet Mall. Member of Knights of Columbus Ladies' Auxiliary, Altar and Rosary, Our Lady of Perpetual Help and St. Catherine of Siena Church.
Survived by her three children, Terese (late John) Laciak of Joliet, Richard (Frances) Makowski of Washington and Michael (Tresa) Makowski of Ohio; proud grandmother of seven; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her husband, Harry (1984); her parents Benjamin and Mary Solic; and siblings, Joseph Solic, Leona Janulis and Dorothy Durbak.
Family and friends may gather Saturday, March 28, 2015 at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 6525 Kentucky Avenue, Hammond, Indiana 46323 at 10:30 a.m. until time of Memorial Mass at 11:00 a.m.
Cremation Rites have been accorded and burial of her urn will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Calumet City immediately following the Memorial Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name to the Alzheimer's Association or St. Patrick's Residence Naperville, IL. would be appreciated.
