Marilyn J. Cherven
(nee Patten)
Age 74. Suddenly, Saturday, January 15, 2011 at Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center. Born March 25, 1936 in Joliet, she was a long time Joliet area resident before relocating to Kankakee, where she was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, returning to the Joliet/Channahon area and joining St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rockdale upon their return. A graduate of Joliet Township High School Class of 1954, and a member of the National Honor Society. Formerly employed by Illinois Bell Telephone in Joliet and Gould Battery in Kankakee. Member of St. Joseph Catholic Church CCW and the 55 and Over Club. Marilyn had a heart the size of Alaska, and loved her family, friends and crossword puzzles.
Preceded in death by her parents, George Edward (1979), and Anna R. (nee Mack) (2004) Patten.
Survived by her loving and devoted husband of 53 and a half years, Frank A. Cherven of Channahon; one daughter, Susan (John) Underwood of Shorewood; one brother, George (Virginia) Patten of Joliet; one sister, Georgia Patten of Shorewood; numerous nieces and nephews survive.
Private Funeral Services for Marilyn J. Cherven were held. As it was Marilyn's request, Cremation Rites have been accorded with final interment at Ss. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Cemetery. No visitation. Arrangements by:
