Helen M. Goetz

Age 94, late of Crest Hill, passed away peacefully Friday, April 10, 2015 at Presence Saint Joseph Medical Center.
Helen was a graduate of Chicago Teachers College, and was a veteran of the United States Navy serving as an aircraft instrument panel technician during World War II. She was a devoted homemaker, wife, and mother, raising her large family, but also taught for several years at Infant Jesus of Prague School in Flossmoor, and worked as a real estate broker in the western Suburbs.
Surviving are her children, Randi Burbach, Joe (Betsy) Goetz, John "Jack" (Cathy) Goetz, Sue (Dennis) Kuefner, Diane (John) Werner and Marty Goetz; nine grandchildren, Dawn, Becky, Audrey, John Jr., Mike, Dana, Joe, Stephanie and Danny; 12 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Maxine (late Jim) Greene, Rita (late Jim) McCord and Millie (late Dick) Kerr; one brother, Matthew (Dolores) Gross; two sisters-in-law, Sheila Gross and Noreen Gleiter; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceded by her beloved husband of 61 years, Earl J. Goetz; her parents, Bernard and Gertrude (McGrath) Gross; and two brothers Edward Gross and Mickey Gross.
Funeral Services for Helen M. Goetz will be Monday, April 20, 2015 at 9:15 a.m. from the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet to St. Anne Catholic Church, Crest Hill for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Interment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery where military honors will be accorded. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name to Juvenile Diabetes Foundation would be appreciated. Visitation Sunday, 2-6 p.m. at the funeral home.
