"Don"
Age 85. Passed away peacefully Friday, April 24, 2015 at his residence.
Born June 25, 1929 in Joliet, IL to his parents, Don and "Sis" Leaman. He graduated from Joliet Township High School in Joliet, IL. He married Betty Patterson in 1957. The Leamans lived in Plainfield, IL where Don worked as an HVAC tradesman. He retired in 1985 and enjoyed international travel, fine dining and spending time with friends and family.
Mr. Leaman was a supporter of the arts, playing spanish guitar and enjoying dramatic performances at theatres around Europe and the U.S.
Survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Anita and Jeff Dziedzic of Oswego, IL; his son and daughter-in-law, Donald Patrick and Mary Jo Leaman of of Concord, OH; three loving grandchildren, Hannah, Kara and Gianni; his brother, Dick (Marian) Leaman; sister, Sally (Jerry) Johnson; sister-in-law, Jane Leaman; his beloved companion, Karen Rebuehr; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Gerry.
Don is a veteran of the United States Army, serving in Germany during the Korean conflict.
Funeral Services for Donald R. Leaman wil be held Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet. Interment Plainfield Township Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name to the Macular Degeneration Foundation (www.eyesight.org) would be appreciated.
