Donald L. Stadler
"Papa"
Age 80, passed away peacefully, May 1, 2015 at Presence St. Joseph Medical Center, following a brief illness and ongoing pains from a broken heart from the time of his beloved wife's passing. His entire family was at his side providing him love and peace for his next journey to be with the love of his life.
Born February 24, 1935 in Joliet, IL to the late Mary (nee Ariagno) and Harold Stadler, he attended Joliet Grade Schools and was a graduate of Joliet Township High School. He married Mary F. Flatt on November 8, 1958.
Surviving are his children, James (Lynn Grant) Stadler, Suzanne (Steve) Dieter; and Frederick (Angela Acosta) Stadler; his grandchildren, Taylor Stadler (Aaron) and Morgan Stadler (Michael); Zachary (Suzie) Dieter and Matthew Dieter (Ariana); and Nathan and Nicole Stadler; and his great granddaughter, Riley Dieter.
Preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Frances "Nonnie" (nee Flatt) Stadler (2007); his parents and in-laws, Harvey and Katherine Pulley.
Don, A U.S. Navy Veteran, was a retired Truck Driver and member of Teamsters Local #179, retiring in 1997. A member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Rockdale, Dale A.C. and the Elks Lodge of Tarpon Springs, FL.
The Stadler family will always be grateful to the staffs of Presence St. Joseph Medical Center and Family Medical Group for their great care and compassion shown Don in his last days.
Funeral services for Donald Stadler will be Tuesday, May 5, 2015, 9:15 a.m. from the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet, to St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rockdale, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment Resurrection Cemetery, Romeoville. Visitation Monday from 3 - 8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name can be directed to his family for a future fund to benefit students at Presence St. Joseph School of Nursing.
