Ann Fitzgerald
(nee Nobile)
Age 95. Peacefully Monday, August 3, 2015 at Our Lady of Angels Retirement Home surrounded by her loving family. Born July 27, 1920 in Chicago, IL to Louis and Mary Nobile. Ann enjoyed being a homemaker and was a wonderful cook. She was known for her spaghetti, manicotti, Christmas cookies and lasagna. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and will be truly missed.
Survived by her children, Mary Ann Maiorca, Sam (Barbara) Maiorca, Robert Maiorca and Patricia (Frank) Pascoe; 12 grandchildren, Gina Keyser, Michael Prepejchal, Thomas (Erin) Maiorca, Linda (Scott) Klepac, Tammy (Robert) Hendry, Katie Skomorowski, Kimberly (Tommy) Shanahan, Chase Ehlers, Matthew (Laura) Froelich, Brian (Amber) Froelich, David Froelich and Christopher Pascoe; 16 great-grandchildren; son-in-law, Keith Ehlers; sister, Dorothy (Michael) Perri; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Santo Maiorca (1964) and Richard Fitzgerald (1979); two daughters, Joan Ehlers and Gina Maiorca; grandson, Colin Pascoe; and five sisters, Mary Nicosia, Mildred Perri, Annette Mansueto, Sue Aviano and Rose Calascibetta, all known as "the Oregano Sisters".
A special thank you to the entire staff of Our Lady of Angels Retirement Home for their love and compassion shown to Ann the last three years and to Joliet Area Community Hospice for their care and compassion shown to her these last few months.
Family and friends are invited to gather on Saturday, August 8, 2015 at Our Lady of Angels Retirement Home, 1201 Wyoming Avenue, Joliet from 9:30 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Interment Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside, IL. Memorials in her name to Our Lady of Angels Retirement Home would be appreciated. Visitation Friday, 4-8 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet.
