Myrtle Louise Patterson
(nee Rogers)
Age 95. Peacefully Sunday, January 24, 2016 at Our Lady of Angels Retirement Home. Born in Morris and a lifelong Joliet area resident. Myrtle's family was her life. Spending time with and caring for her family meant everything to her. In addition to her love of caring for her family, she enjoyed crocheting afghans for family and friends. She also helped make blankets for the sick and needy children all over the world with her church group at the First Presbyterian Church.
Preceded by her husband, Leonard A. Patterson (1997); her daughter, Carol Ann (nee Patterson) Woldt; her parents, Claude E. and Hannah M. (nee Olson) Rogers; and three brothers, Harold W. (Marge), Raymond L. (Helen) and Franklin S. (Helen) Rogers.
Survived by one daughter, Janice L. Guffey of Joliet; one son, Gary L. (Sarah) Patterson of Colorado; six grandchildren, Deanna (Rob) Hoole, Ryan L. (Sarah) Guffey, Kevin A. Guffey (Jennifer Segredo), Lauren R. Kapler, Bryan Patterson and Meghan Patterson; five great-grandchildren, Gavin Moore, Tyler Moore, Rowan Guffey, Cameron Kapler and Evan Kapler; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends also survive.
Funeral Services for Myrtle Louise Patterson will be held Saturday, January 30, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet. Pastor Dale Hammond officiating. Interment Woodlawn Memorial Park. Memorials in her name to the American Diabetes Association or American Cancer Society would be appreciated.
