Obituary of Julia Squyres

Julia Faye Squyrese Age 83, late of Shorewood, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at Presence St. Joseph Medical Center, Joliet, with her devoted daughters by her side. Born September 11, 1932 in Montgomery, Alabama, she was the daughter of the late Coley and Myrtle (Haiman) Grier. Julia was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who her daughters describe as the "best Mom ever." Family was her life and she would do anything for them. She loved watching her soap operas and was a great cook. She will be remembered for her southern cornbread stuffing, fried okra, bread pudding, and many other dishes. She could make a whole meal from whatever was in the house. Surviving are three daughters, JoAnn Craig of Shorewood, Jane Versprill in Oregon, and Mildred Herber, also in Oregon; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Services for Julia Faye Squyres will be private.
