Obituary of Michael Coveny

Michael F. Coveny Age 56, of Minooka, went home to be with Jesus on Monday, March 7, 2011 at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home surrounded by his loving family. Mike retired in 2006 from Caterpillar, Inc. after 33 years of service, and has since been the Paint Department Manager at Ace Hardware in Minooka. He was a member of Southwest Comunity Church, Minooka American Legion Post #1188, and the Patriot Guard Riders. He will be fondly remembered as Uncle Mike at Royal Family Kids Camp, and for his talents as a musician, singer, worship leader, and performer in many Christian musicals at First Assembly of God. Survived by his wife, Claudia (nee Grizzi) Coveny; his children, Bryan (Diana) Coveny, Krissi (Shawn) Carroll, Matthew (Jenny) Giermala, and Giana (John) Trotter; his parents, Robert F. and Beverly Jean (nee Mandella) Coveny; two brothers, Lawrence (Jodi) Coveny and Robert (Gina) Coveny; one sister, Patricia (Paul) Guerin; nieces and nephews, Scott, Lauren, Lindsey and Dominic Coveny; a special cousin, Rami (Michael) Wells; and loving aunt, Verna (Richard) Landrey. Preceded by his late wife, Kristie Ann Coveny (Oct. 14, 2001); and his grandparents. Funeral Services for Michael F. Coveny will be Friday, March 11, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home chapel. Interment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Royal Family Kids Camp would be appreciated.
