Obituary of Susan DeGolyer

DeGolyer, Susan M. (nee Cortina) Age 58. Peacefully Friday, February 24, 2012 at her residence with her family by her side, following a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Chicago, she was a 22 year Coal City resident before moving to Shorewood in 1995. Retired from the Minooka School District #111 after many years of service as a secretary to the deans. Formerly employed by the Cortina & Mueller Law Firm in Morris as a legal secretary for her brother. A member of the Del Webb Shorewood Glen Community. Preceded in death by her father, Frank J. Cortina Sr.; and father-in-law, Marshall Lee DeGolyer. Survived by her loving husband of 39 years, Rick A. DeGolyer of Shorewood; her mother, Beverley Cortina; three daughters, Lori (Mark) Johnson of Joliet, Wendy (Marc) Nelson of Channahon and Paula DeGolyer of Morris; six grandchildren, Alexis and Colby Johnson, Isabella and Jack Nelson, Gage and Owen Thorp; three sisters; two brothers; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Funeral Services for Susan M. DeGolyer will be Monday, February 27, 2012 at 9:15 a.m. from the funeral home to Holy Family Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Inurnment Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation TODAY Sunday, 2-7 p.m. at the funeral home. As it was Susan's request, Cremation Rites will be accorded following the visitation. Arrangements by: FRED C.
