Obituary of Rita Delrose
Rita R. Delrose
Rita Sadler Delrose, 72, of Joliet, at rest Wednesday, October 28, 2009 with her family at her side in her home, after a three year battle with glioblastoma (brain cancer). Born Rita Rae Sadler, November 2, 1936, in Cullom, IL to Paul and Magdalen "Sis", who preceded her in death.
Left to cherish her memory are: Husband of nearly 52 years, Kenneth. Six children: Danielle (Bill) Oeding, Dina (Steve) Bryce, Deb (Scot) Kalchbrenner, Darcee (Mike) Synoracki, Domonic (Tanya) Delrose and Donna (David) Stolarek. Eleven grandchildren: Patrick and Rachel Hurley; Jake and Tyler Bryce; Sam and Alex Kalchbrenner; Gavin Delrose; Daniel, Cassidy, Brennan and Savannah Stolarek. Sister, Dolores "Toots" (Tom) Guice. Mother-in-law, Helen Delrose. Sister-in-law, Frances Delrose. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Rita's nursing career spanned 50 years, most of those at St. Patrick's Residence--but her true life's work was raising her children. Any time spent with her kids was quickly made into a party, as Rita's pride and joy was her family. She loved her grandchildren and the smiles they inspired. She deeply cherished her countless friendships, whether long-standing or newly formed. She was always excited to see the first snow of the season. Her love of lighthouses inspired her travels and added to her own collection of antiques. Rita was the consummate host for family gatherings, especially the family's yearly Eastertime celebration. She was a Cubs' fan through marriage, and a cheerleader to all of her grandkids' interests. Her spirit and energy will live on in our hearts forevermore.
"I am strong when I am on your shoulders. You raise me up to more than I can be."
