Obituary of Marco A. Ramos
Marco A. Ramos
Marco Ramos died peacefully on a sunny Sunday afternoon. He was home surrounded by his family preparing his journey home with God. He was born September 10, 1935 to Rosario (Ortiz) and Antonio Ramos in Orizaba, Veracruz, Mexico.
Survived by his loving wife, Hortensia (nee López) Ramos who he married on September 27, 1959; children, Angelica Martin, M. Antonio Ramos, Jr. (Deyanira) and Alexandra Williamson (Mark); grandchildren, Erika Martin, Susan Rivera (Jose), Araceli Martin, Emilio Ramos, Anna Ramos; great-grandchildren, Isabel, Cristian, Angelina, Alex and Aiden.
Marco came to Chicago, IL in late November, 1963 in search of a better life for his growing family. What was to be a temporary stay turned into 55 years as a dedicated US citizen and hard worker. He retired from GM Electro-Motive Division in 2003 when he was finally able to visit his beloved home land in Mexico without schedule nor commitment. Unfortunately, his dream was cut short after 2 years due to health issues. He and his wife returned to Illinois to be with their family who now have lives of their own.
Marco can be remembered in a simple sentence, he loved his family over anything.
As it was Marco's request, there will be no formal funeral services. Arrangements entrusted to Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, Morris, IL. For information (815) 942-5040 or visit his Memorial Tribute at www.fredcdames.com
