Obituary of Thomas M. Whitgrove, Jr.
Thomas M. Whitgrove, Jr.
“Tommy”
Age 46, passed away on Sunday, February 25, 2018 at Presence St. Joseph Medical Center. He was a beloved son and brother to his family, and the many families and friends that his life touched. Tommy will always be remembered for his kind, caring personality, his great heart, and his charm. He loved his Chicago Bears and his Chicago Cubs, and the closeness it brought him with his uncles, Jim and Kevin, and his cousin, Jim. Tommy found a second home through his work at Syl’s, where he has worked since he was 16, and whose customers and co-workers, especially Bob and Patti Pekol, will miss him greatly.
He was preceded by his grandparents, Bill and Ann Whitgrove and Leo and Dorothy Gable.
Tommy is survived by his parents, Tom and Kathy (née Gable) Whitgrove of Joliet; his brother, Patrick Whitgrove; sister-in-law, Mona Baroudi; and nephew, Leo Whitgrove of California. Many aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends also survive.
A Celebration of the Life of Tommy Whitgrove will be held on Friday, March 2, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. at Syl’s Restaurant, 829 Moen Ave., Rockdale, IL 60436.
