James M. Weber
Age 54, passed away suddenly on Thursday, March 29, 2018, following a brief battle with cancer. He was born and raised in Wauwatosa, WI, and has been residing in Joliet since 2003. Jim was a proud U.S. Navy Veteran who loved bowling and was a regular at the Joliet Town & Country Lanes. He also had a love for all things that go fast; enjoying the camaraderie of the Grundy County Speedway and volunteering as pit steward for the STARS series.
Jim is survived by his brother, Larry (Marlene) Weber of Winterset, IA; sisters, Diana Wade of West Allis, WI and Brenda (Bill) Gerhardt of Wauwatosa, WI; many nieces, nephews, family, and friends also survive.
He is preceded by his parents, Harold and Mary Lee (nee Johnston) Weber.
A Memorial Service for Jim Weber will be held on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet, IL, with visitation beginning at 4:00 p.m. Cremation rites have been accorded per his request; it was also his wish that anyone attending be dressed casually in blue jeans or racing attire. Interment will take place at a later date at the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in may be made to be used in accordance with the wishes of his family and the Mazon Speed Bowl & Grundy County Speedway Hall of Fame.
